The Gospel Crusaders, a notable youth quartet, was formed in 1988 by Tommy Patrick
and Quentin Williams. Since then, several members have joined the group. Currently,
The Gospel Crusaders consists of Rev. Leon Walker, Kevin Lloyd,
Michael Wilson, and Tommy Patrick.
The Crusaders have traveled nationwide appearing on various television programs and
appeared across the country in concert with many Gospel Greats, including The Mighty
Clouds of Joy, The Williams Brothers and Otis Clay to name a few. Also, The Gospel
Crusaders have performed several times on the World's Largest Chicago Gospel
Music Festival and a special CD signing with Mary Mary. The Crusaders brought their
anointed ministry as special guests for the Black History Festival for the Chicago
Transit Authority, and they performed at the United Center for The Chicago Bulls.
Thousands have also witnessed their ministry as they performed at The Taste of Chicago
and The International African Carribean Festival of Life.
The Gospel Crusaders share a common faith with God. When you listen to their
music you are bound to find a song just for you! Known as a quartet with a
twist of contemporary, The Gospel Crusaders have released several recordings and
are currently working on their latest recording project with notable producer Pharis Evans.
In 1995, the Crusaders extended their powerful writing talents and wrote such hits songs as
'Prove it', 'Christian Race', and 'The Angels' - songs that are still impacting the Gospel Industry
through other groups that have re-recorded these hits, such as The Windy City Spirtualaires
and Tommy Ellison and The Five Singing Stars.
The Crusaders have been featured on the Hallatcha Records Compilation "God is
Still Great". They have been awarded the Best New Artist Award at the American
Gospel Quartet Convention, the Salute to Chicago Gospel Singers for Outstanding
Quartet, in addition to numerous other awards that have acknowledged their
outstanding contributions to the Gospel Music Industry.
